Privacy by design

Cloak is designed to minimize data collection by default. We do not collect, store, or process personal data of users in the ordinary course of providing the Services.

01

Information We Do Not Collect

Cloak is built with privacy as a core design principle:

  • No names, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, device identifiers, or location data
  • No account creation or user registration required
  • No private keys, seed phrases, wallet balances, or cryptographic secrets
  • No transaction metadata for Protocol-level interactions
  • No cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral analytics
02

Wallet Connections & Blockchain Data

When you connect a third-party, non-custodial wallet:

  • Connection is handled directly between your wallet and browser
  • Cloak does not receive or store personal data from your wallet
  • Blockchain data exists on public blockchains independently and is not indexed by us

Public blockchain data is governed by that network's properties, not by Cloak.

03

Zero-Knowledge Protocol Design

The Cloak Protocol uses zero-knowledge proofs for privacy-preserving functionality. Due to this cryptographic design:

  • Cloak cannot link deposits and withdrawals
  • Cloak cannot identify transaction counterparties
  • Cloak cannot reconstruct user transaction histories

This is a technical limitation, not a policy decision.

04

Wallet Blocklist & Interface Controls

Cloak may maintain an interface-level wallet blocklist to mitigate abuse:

  • Blocklist contains blockchain addresses only
  • No personal data is associated with blocked addresses
  • Blocklisting applies only to the Cloak-hosted interface
05

Third-Party Services

The Platform may integrate with third-party services including wallet providers, RPC providers, or blockchain explorers. Cloak does not control their privacy practices. Information you provide to third parties is governed by their respective policies.

06

Cookies & Tracking

Cloak does not use:

CookiesLocal storage trackingAnalytics trackersAdvertising techCross-site identifiers
07

Data Security

Because Cloak does not collect personal data, data breach risks are inherently minimized. Users remain responsible for securing their own devices, safeguarding private keys, and exercising caution with blockchain applications.

08

Data Retention

Cloak does not retain personal data because it does not collect such data. Any limited operational logs avoid personal identifiers and are retained only for technical maintenance and security.

09

Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for individuals under 18. Cloak does not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

10

International Use

Cloak is accessible globally. Because we do not collect personal data, cross-border data transfer obligations are generally not applicable. Users remain responsible for complying with local laws.

11

Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in Services, legal requirements, or technical architecture. Updates will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revisions.
